What is a recession?

A recession happens when "the total amount of goods and services produced by a country - known as gross domestic product (GDP) - would have to contract on a quarter by quarter basis for a total period of six months".

This is a sad fact for a lot of the students in our class and many seniors in the High school. Please tell us about your situation and comment on the cartoon.
